____

Dark jazz band founded in 1992 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. Bohren & Der Club Of Gore was formed by members of various grindcore/hardcore and death/doom metal bands. In their search for a "unique sound", they started to play what they call "doom ridden jazz music".

Initially the band was called "Bohren". In 1993, the name was expanded to "Bohren und Der Club of Gore" as a link to the Dutch band Gore, which inspired Bohren to play instrumental music. in 1995 the name was altered to "Bohren & Der Club of Gore".

The band released their eighth studio album, "Patchouli Blue," just over five years after "Piano Nights" and more than eleven years following "Dolores." The album embodies the typical Bohren essence, with the organ and saxophone creating a captivating tension. Unexpected tracks like "Deine Kusine" and "Vergessen und vorbei" with its John Carpenter-esque vibe, add depth.

Bohren describes the album as a mix of "typical Bohren," "weird," and "jazz sneak." Each song title hints at a story, inviting interpretation. "Patchouli Blue," the title track, evokes the scents of 1970s India. With meticulous craftsmanship, Bohren crafts soundscapes ripe for exploration. As they prepare for live performances, their latest offering promises immersive sonic journeys.
